Am I a suitable candidate for dental implants?
Many adults missing one or more teeth are suitable candidates for dental implants. Ideal patients are generally in good overall health, have healthy gums, and enough bone in the jaw to support an implant, or are willing to consider grafting if needed.
Non-smokers with good plaque control tend to enjoy the highest success rates, but even smokers can sometimes be treated if they’re committed to improving habits and following aftercare advice. Certain conditions, such as uncontrolled diabetes, heavy grinding, or some medications affecting bone, may require extra planning or make implants unsuitable.
We will assess your suitability during a comprehensive consultation, using clinical examination and X-rays or CBCT scans to evaluate bone and gum health. If implants aren’t the best option, alternatives such as bridges or modern dentures will be discussed so you can still confidently restore your smile.
