Health & Safety Policy for
Mannamead Cosmetic Dental Centre

At Mannamead Cosmetic Dental Centre, we consider ourselves to be at the forefront of providing the very highest standards of cross-infection control and ensuring patient safety is of the highest priority.

The British Dental Association produces many of the guidelines we follow, and our health and safety policies are of the highest standard.

Our dedicated, state-of-the-art sterilisation room is equipped with a vacuum autoclave and RO-filtered water.

Our dental water units are subject to rigorous regular testing to ensure the quality of the water. A non-toxic disinfectant, ICX tablet, is specially formulated to maintain the dental unit waterlines, preventing the accumulation of odour and foul taste bacteria. The disinfectant ensures the safety of the independent bottled water supply to each dental chair.

We use as many disposable items as possible in all our treatments. All other items are decontaminated following a strict cross-infection control policy, ensuring our high standards are maintained.

We also make sure that all our equipment is regularly and properly maintained. All equipment in the practice holds current safety certificates.

The practice has an annual test of all fire extinguishers and monthly fire drills.

We conduct risk assessments regularly, and the results are routinely reviewed and discussed with the team.
