Dental Implant Cost Plymouth
Our all-inclusive Swiss-made Straumann dental implant with a Ceramic crown starts at £2,750, while a Zirconia crown implant starts at £2,900.
These all-inclusive packages cover the implant fixture placed into the jaw, the connecting abutment and a high-quality, custom-made crown designed to match your surrounding teeth.
Every mouth is different, so the exact fee can only be confirmed after a comprehensive examination and scan.
Additional procedures, such as bone grafting or sinus lifts, if required, are itemised separately and discussed in advance so you have a clear written treatment plan.

New Patient Consultation
All new patients will be asked to book a 1-hour comprehensive examination appointment for £150.
This exam will include your dental and gum health, structural integrity, bite function, cosmetic aspects, and any necessary X-rays.
After we have carefully listened to what you want and, under the dentist’s professional guidance, we will create a customised treatment plan for you and discuss the available treatments and estimated costs.
A £60 deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining £90 due on the day of your appointment.
Please note that this fee is fully refundable if you notify us of your cancellation at least 72 hours in advance. Your deposit will not be refunded for cancellations made with shorter notice or failed appointments

Implant procedure
When you visit us for an initial consultation, we’ll discuss your needs and recommend the implant solutions that best suit you.
We will then undertake an oral health assessment. Good oral hygiene and healthy gums give your operation the best chance of success and help avoid dental infections and more severe complications.
If you have any oral health issues, such as tooth decay, gingivitis, or gum disease, our Dental Hygienist will help you address them before the surgery.
Our state-of-the-art scanning machine will take multiple scans and X-rays of your mouth and jaw, producing high-resolution 3D images of your mouth, including teeth, jaws, soft tissue, and bones – all with high levels of detail to enable precision planning to help fit your implant.
On the day of your surgery, we use a simple procedure to place the titanium screw in your jawbone. We’ll then place a temporary crown or bridge to fill the gap while you wait for the implant to heal. If you currently wear dentures, you can continue wearing them.

What does the initial dental implant consultation involve?
Your journey begins with a comprehensive, one-hour examination.
During this detailed appointment at our dental clinic, we assess your gum health, the structural integrity of your teeth, and bite function. We utilise a state-of-the-art scanning machine to take high-resolution 3D images and X-rays of your mouth.
Afterwards, we will discuss your aesthetic goals and provide a customised treatment plan with clear, transparent costs.
How painful is getting a dental implant?
Most patients are pleasantly surprised by how manageable implant treatment feels. The area is thoroughly numbed with the latest fast-acting local anaesthetic before your implant is placed, so you should only feel pressure and movement rather than sharp pain.
For nervous patients or more complex procedures, Dr Bronkhorst has a special interest in treating anxious patients and IV or inhalation (RA) sedation is available to help you relax and remember little of the appointment.
Afterwards, it’s normal to experience some soreness and swelling for a few days, similar to having a tooth extracted. This is usually well controlled with over-the-counter pain relief such as ibuprofen and paracetamol, along with careful aftercare instructions.
Most people return to normal daily activities within 24–48 hours, avoiding strenuous exercise while the area settles. If you follow the advice you’re given, your discomfort should steadily improve rather than worsen, and our team is always on hand if you’re concerned.

How long do dental implants last?
Dental implants are designed as a long-term solution and can often last for decades.
Research and clinical experience suggest that with good oral hygiene and regular dental care, many implants function comfortably for 20 years or more, and often for life.
It’s important to distinguish between the implant itself and the crown or bridge attached to it.
While the titanium implant can remain stable for many years, the prosthetic tooth may need to be replaced after around 10–15 years due to normal wear or aesthetic changes. Longevity depends on factors such as smoking, gum health, bite force, and how well you follow maintenance advice.
You’ll be guided on cleaning around your implant, with routine check-ups and hygiene visits, and managing any grinding, all of which help protect your investment.
