How long does it take to put the screw in for a dental implant?
Placing the implant screw itself is usually a relatively short procedure, but the full treatment takes much longer.
The screw is the titanium implant that goes into the jawbone. In practice, the surgical placement appointment often takes about 30 to 60 minutes for a single implant, depending on the case, though more complex treatment can take longer.
The bigger time factor is healing: the implant usually needs months to integrate with the bone before the crown or denture is attached. So while the “screw-in” part is fairly quick, the overall process can take several months, sometimes longer if bone grafting is needed.
