Will I be without teeth while my dental implant heals?
In many cases, you won’t need to face the healing period with a visible gap.
Options include a removable partial denture, a small adhesive bridge or a provisional crown fitted onto a neighbouring tooth, carefully designed not to load the new implant too early. If you’re having a full-arch or “teeth in a day” style treatment, temporary fixed teeth can often be attached to the implants on the same day, with your final bridge fitted after healing.
In a few situations, especially at the back of the mouth, leaving the space empty may be recommended to protect your implant.
