Bespoke Dentures designed for your confidence
High-quality Acrylic and Chrome Cobalt Dentures.
Implant-retained Dentures for maximum security.
If loose, uncomfortable or ageing Dentures are making you avoid certain foods or hide your smile, bespoke dentures can help you eat, speak and laugh with confidence again.
We design each set of dentures individually, using high‑quality materials and detailed measurements of your mouth, face, and bite, so they look natural and feel secure day-to-day. Whether you need a full set, a partial denture or implant‑retained dentures, we will tailor everything to your priorities, from appearance to budget.
Your journey starts with a comprehensive one‑hour examination, where we assess your remaining teeth, gums, bone support and bite, take any necessary X‑rays, and listen carefully to what you want from your new dentures. From there, we create a staged plan with wax try‑ins so you can preview the shape and smile line before the final dentures are made. This means you have plenty of input on how your teeth will look and feel, rather than getting a one‑size‑fits‑all result.

Dentures FAQ
How long does it take to get a new set of custom dentures fitted?
Crafting a premium set of custom dentures is an art that requires precision. The process generally takes a few weeks and involves several short visits to our Lockyer Road clinic.
After your initial consultation and 3D digital scans, we will have a “try-in” stage to check the fit, bite, and aesthetics of a wax model before the final, permanent dentures are expertly crafted by our premium dental laboratory and fitted.
What types of false teeth and dentures do you provide?
Because every patient’s needs are entirely unique, we offer a range of premium denture solutions.
These include full (complete) dentures to replace an entire arch of missing teeth, partial dentures (available in lightweight acrylic or durable metal) to fill specific gaps, and state-of-the-art implant-retained dentures for the ultimate in stability and chewing confidence.
Will my new dentures look like real, natural teeth?
Absolutely. We have moved far beyond the days of uniform, artificial-looking false teeth.
During your consultation at our Mutley Plain clinic, our Principal Dentist, Dr Lenore Bronkhorst, will work closely with you to design a bespoke smile.
We carefully select the shape, size, and colour of the premium acrylic or porcelain teeth, and we even colour-match the base to your natural gum tissue, ensuring no one will ever know you are wearing dentures.
Can you sleep with dentures in?
You can sleep with dentures, but we advise removing them at night once you’ve finished the initial healing period.
Wearing them 24/7 increases the risk of sore spots, infection and stomatitis, and may affect overall health in older adults. Taking out your dentures overnight lets your gums rest and helps them last longer.
Is it painful getting dentures?
The process of making and fitting dentures is usually not painful, though you may have soreness if teeth are removed first.
Once fitted, new dentures can feel strange or cause mild pressure spots that we can adjust. Well‑made dentures should not cause any pain once your mouth has adapted.
My current dentures are loose and slip when I eat. Can you make them more secure?
Yes. Loose lower dentures are a very common complaint. The gold-standard solution we offer at our Plymouth clinic is implant-retained dentures.
Dr Bronkhorst uses her advanced international training to place a small number of titanium dental implants into your jawbone.
Your new dentures then securely “click” onto these implants, completely eliminating slipping, rubbing, and the need for messy denture adhesives.
Which type of denture is best?
“Best” depends on your mouth, budget and expectations. We can recommend options based on fit, stability and your priorities.
Conventional acrylic dentures are versatile and cost‑effective. Flexible or metal‑based partials can be thinner and more comfortable. Implant‑supported dentures offer the most secure, natural feel but require surgery and incur higher costs.
How long do dentures last?
Most full or partial acrylic dentures last around 5–10 years before they need to be replaced or require a major adjustment, depending on wear and changes in your mouth.
With good care and regular check‑ups, some can last longer, but immediate dentures are usually only a short‑term solution.
Do I need an NHS referral to get private dentures with you?
No referral is necessary. We warmly welcome new private patients from all over the South West.
Many of our patients travel across the Tamar from Saltash and Torpoint, as well as from Ivybridge, Plymstock, and beyond, to access our cosmetic expertise and advanced digital technology.
